Utilization of non-financial business support services to aid development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Tanzania

A variety of factors inhibit the development MSMEs in African countries, which turn affects entrepreneurship, job creation and economic transformation. Using cross-sectional data from 250 Dar es Salaam region, we find most examined variables positive relationship between use non-financial business support services (BDS) region. However, contrary to expectations, building linkages mentoring programs recorded negative relationships with development. This is related restricted capacities stemming size compared large companies deficiencies content programs. In addition, discrepancy BDS demand supply as well low adoption rate are associated inadequate adaptation needs MSMEs, high service costs a lack qualified providers. Thus, argue that provision should be demand-driven institutions build on pre-eminent characteristics when designing On other hand, Government efforts nurture through policies extend promoting enterprises.
